Come and have a go at making your own ‘Beastie’ in one of my workshops at Lovatt Gallery in Jedburgh. You could make your own picture or freestanding assemblage. It will involve being creative with copper foil, soft soldering, twirling wires, beads and found objects. The workshop is £50 for three hours to make a small assemblage or £80 for six hours to make a grande sized assemblage or large picture. If you want to do something between the two then you can, £50 for the basic workshop then £10 per extra hour. All materials and tea, coffee and choccies will be provided. If staying for the full day you can stop for 45 minutes for lunch, there are lots of cafes and bakers on the High Street.
Just bring your spectacles (if you need them) and any pieces of precious china, keys or jewellery you would like to incorporate into your creation, although we have a large selection of china in the gallery you can use.
We do the patination as this takes up to three days to complete. Then your creation can be collected or posted out to you.
Framing is extra (£25 to £40) if you decide to do a picture or you can frame it yourself at home.
There is a postage charge of £5.00 to post your Beastie to you if you can't collect from the gallery.
