An irresistible little elephant with vintage china saddle and mother of pearl button ear, tin soldered toes and a curly beaded brass tail. Made from beaten copper and finished in crystalline verdigris. Soldered on the back is a silver-plated traditional bar brooch catch. He is 70mm from trunk to tail and comes in a gift box with a signed booklet.
Whilst digging my garden I found old bits of china in the soil, they were like pieces of buried treasure to me. So I started making these little beasties with them using some scraps of copper from my husband’s workshop. Now I search around antique and vintage shops looking for chipped teacups and lonely saucers.
