Due to the handcrafted nature of our products, pieces may vary slightly to those shown in photographs.
With a base of vintage blue and white china fragments, I created a crab apple tree from copper wire and foil with frosted pink blossom. Nestled in amongst the branches are a pair of blackbirds watching over a nest of wire, beads and brass foil, with a pair of blue eggs made form modelling clay, gesso and watercolour. some of the copper has been treated so it has a crystaline verdigris coating.
Mounted in a solid wood white box frame 430mm x 430mm
This Spring, I discovered a beautifully made nest in one of my Crab Apple Trees and inside were four gorgeous blue eggs. Over the next month we watched the little blackbird chicks hatch into cute fluffy fledglings.
