Spring Blossom – Framed assemblage

This fantailed birdie is created from copper sheet with a vintage china wing and a gold leaf on his tail, he perches high in the blossom tree made from more fragments of china sitting very proudly. Then finished in crystalline verdigris, it is mounted and signed on acid free off white card in a cream contemporary style open grain wooden box frame, 220mm x 260mm.

I have a beautiful avenue of crab apple trees in my garden and every Spring they look amazing but then come the cruel Scottish spring winds reducing my perfect blooms to tattered brown wispy remains, hey ho, next year the winds might not be so strong.
