This graceful running hare with his china saddle, beaded tail and brass whiskers runs through a little sprig of leaves and beaded flowers with a dangling glass heart. Made from beaten copper and finished in a crystalline verdigris. The 18" antique gold colour chain is a nickel free composite alloy.
He is 75mm from toe to toe and comes in a gift box with a signed booklet.
Whilst digging my garden I found old bits of china in the soil, they were like pieces of buried treasure to me. So I started making these little beasties with them using some scraps of copper from my husband’s workshop. Now I search around antique and vintage shops looking for chipped teacups and lonely saucers to supplement my garden finds.
